2024 Toyota Camry Hybrid CGI Model Draws Inspiration from Prius & 2023 Crown, Appears Sporty in Style
Initially introduced to the international market in 1982, the compact Camry has undergone significant evolution over the past 40 years and has become a mid-size wide-body vehicle. It is currently in its eighth generation.
The XV70 iteration of the Camry, which has been available
for purchase since 2017 and is built on the TNGA-K global platform, received
cosmetic upgrades in 2021 and has only seen minor updates since, such as the
2022 Nightshade package or new color options in 2023. These updates have been
rather understated, wouldn't you agree?
Some individuals may believe that Toyota should begin
considering the potential replacement for the IX generation of the Camry, the
XV80. If Toyota does not prioritize this, it is possible that others will take
matters into their own hands, using computer-generated imagery (CGI) to create
designs for the next generation of the mid-size Toyota. One such person is
Dimas Ramadhan, a virtual automotive artist who runs the Digimods DESIGN
channel on YouTube. Ramadhan recently used CGI to create an imagined version of
the next-generation Camry. Prior to this, he had primarily focused on creating
digital designs for crossovers, SUVs, and pickup trucks, such as the Nissan
Navara, Chevy S-10, Toyota Hilux Revo, Kia Sorento, and Toyota Fortuner.
It seems that the designer has chosen to draw inspiration
from the Prius 'Hybrid Reborn' rather than the Crown. The headlights bear a
strong resemblance to those on the iconic hybrid series and the taillights also
have a similar look. Additionally, there is an 'HEV' badge on the trunk,
indicating that this is likely the upcoming Toyota Camry Hybrid.
Some may feel that the new Prius is setting the standard for styling across Toyota's hybrid range and therefore do not mind this unofficial tribute to the Camry. However, others might believe that, similar to the Prius and Crown, the best-selling mid-size sedan should have more unique styling in order to remain competitive in North America, especially with the all-new 2023 Honda Accord about to begin deliveries.
